DENNIS Rodman is making progress. We recently reported the cross-dressing hoopster drunkenly walked out on a $1,500 tab at restaurant Philippe at Gansevoort South in Miami. This week, he showed up at Fort Lauderdale club Exit 66 but ended up politely paying his bill at 2:30 a.m. before leaving. “He only polished off half a bottle of Jagermeister, despite being offered two,” laughs our source. Perhaps the outpatient program Rodman recently signed up for to help him deal with his alcohol problem is paying off.

Axe And The Oak offer a modern take on the underground music heyday of both the 50’s and 80’s.

Miami natives Sander Willig, Myles Kaplan and Fernando Subirats are a trio honoring the grand tradition of all things spooky and twang. They perform with an intensely dark feel reminiscent of Halloween, yet capture the raw, honest sound of early Rock and Roll.

Songs draw from genres ranging from Rockabilly, Psychobilly, Surf, Lounge, Punk and Death Rock.

They are currently working on their first album while live dates are posted on myspace.com/axeandtheoak.

Diablo Dimes is Blues, Americana, Ragtime, Boogie Woogie, Dixieland, Rock n’ Roll… A ramblin’ minstrel. He can put ya’ in a swanky Paris whorehouse in the 1920’s, a 30’s hobo jungle at half past the unlucky, a 40’s hepcat rent party, or a shady jumpin’ juke joint of the 50’s Southside of Chicago! Self described as “Honkytonk, hooked, hop, hophead heebies, and a full orchestration at a barrelhouse”… It’s no wonder one raves about his unique sound and memorable performances, like no other. Dimes has played extensively from coast to coast, for all types of audiences. From the House of Blues, and Tipitinas in New Orleans, to the Viper Room, and Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles, to Slim’s, and The Rocket Room in San Francisco, to CBGB’s, and Mo’ Pitkins in New York City, not to mention plenty of lowdown dives in between… Finished production, and released early 09′ the melancholy, “Memoirs of a Poor Balladeer” a two volume collection of original short stories ..

N! prefers to describe his work as, “21^st Century Urban Folk Art” since much of his raw material comes from recycling what the modern industry discards.
